First Game Back
Following my recent accident, the past few months have been quite challenging. Typically, I utilise the pre-season to refresh myself and get my photography eye calibrated. However, due to my injuries, I was unable to attend any of the games. To be candid, I was not fully recovered for this match, but I felt restless and desired a respite from rest.
It felt strange to re-enter the stadium; the duration felt significantly longer than it actually was. This was exacerbated by the fact that one of the buses I have to take made the decision not to stop for anyone, resulting in my late arrival. Such occurrences can disrupt one’s rhythm.
The weather conditions were highly unpredictable, making it challenging to capture any photographs, particularly action photographs. The sky underwent a series of transformations, from sunshine to overcast to rain, and then back to sunshine, all within the second half.
The game itself was not particularly memorable; each team engaged in a stalemate for a substantial portion of the match, and even a red card did not significantly alter the outcome. The pressure from the Homeside intensified in the final 15 minutes, but the away goalkeeper demonstrated exceptional composure and decisively denied each opportunity.
As with most occasions when I venture out into the world, I experienced physical fatigue and some discomfort at the end of the game. Nevertheless, I got to the end. I am hopeful that my injuries will improve as the weeks progress. dragging and carrying equipment is not the best situation but until they invent something to carry it for me, dragging and carrying I must.
I found out today there will be less coaches put on for some of the 'local' games. This will further limit my ability to photograph the games for the club. Im not sure if this is the right decision, you need your fans to follow you and lift the team. By adding further barriers and burdens to the fan base it may see attendance at away games diminish. That surely can't be good for the club? If its purely financial reasons then it is what it is.
Onwards and upwards
